Space writing camp

I have been ask to repost our 4th grade space writing adventure. Most questions are about how to make the space library. This was done with a roll of plastic, duct tape and a box fan. If you need details, please let me know. Your students will love reading in the space library!

  1. Your space adventure looks awesome.Could you give me a few details about this inspiring way to teach writing especially how to make your space library? Was this a culminating lesson? Thanks so much.

  2. Hi Heather, This was an interdisciplinary lesson where we discussed and completed activities about space in math, science and writing. We used plastic wrap (bought at Home Depot), duct tape and a box fan. Couldn't tell you the measurements, because we didn't measure anything. We rolled out about 20 feet of plastic and duct taped several pieces together, making a tube. One open end is duct taped completely around the box fan. Turn on the fan and the plastic will open up. The other open end is your entrance into your space library. Hope this helped.
